LHJ sells services through its online store to private individuals and businesses in Finland. These Terms and Conditions of Sale and Delivery apply to orders placed by both consumer and business customers through LHJ’s online store, as well as to waste reception services and other waste management services purchased through the online store
2. Registration and Personal Data
Registration is not required to use the online store. Registered users can view their order information through their customer account. The Customer is responsible for keeping their username and password secure.
3. Ordering and Formation of the Agreement
The Customer orders services through the website at verkkokauppa.lhj.fi by providing the information required for the provision of the service. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate and up to date.
A binding agreement is formed when LHJ has received the order and an order confirmation has been delivered to the Customer either by email or electronically through the online store. LHJ automatically sends an order confirmation by email for all orders placed through the online store. The confirmation contains essential order details, including:
- Order reference number
- Order contents and price
- A barrier gate access link that can be used to open the gate if no vehicle registration number has been provided or if automatic license plate recognition fails
Receipt of the order confirmation requires the Customer to provide a valid email address when placing the order.
If the Customer has made the purchase while logged into a registered user account, the contents of the order can also be reviewed through the Customer’s account in the online store.
By placing an order, the Customer agrees to the Terms and Conditions of the online store in force at the time of the order, as well as any special terms applicable to the ordered product or service.
4. Prices and Value Added Tax (VAT)
The applicable price for an order placed through the online store is the price displayed in the online store price list at the time the order is placed. All prices are stated in euros (EUR).
The prices displayed in the online store include the applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) in force at the time of purchase.
5. Payment methods
Products and services must be paid for at the time of ordering.
Online payments are processed through the Paytrail service using a secure connection. The service includes online banking payment services offered by Finnish banks, card payment services provided by Nets Oy (Visa and MasterCard), and the MobilePay service.
Paytrail Oyj will appear as the payment recipient on bank statements or card invoices and will forward the payment to the merchant.
Business customers may be offered invoice payment if they have an active invoicing agreement or account customer relationship with LHJ. LHJ reserves the right to verify the creditworthiness of business customers and determine the conditions under which invoicing may be granted.
6. Delivery
If the product is in stock, we will dispatch it within 7–14 business days of the order being registered in our system. Products are delivered by post.
7. Returns and Exchanges
The Customer must deliver the waste specified and paid for through the online store to the designated reception facility during its opening hours within fourteen (14) days of placing the order.
LHJ Oy reserves the right to cancel a transaction if the service ordered by the Customer is unavailable at the time of delivery or if there is a clear and significant pricing error in the online store.
By placing an order, the Customer accepts the instructions relating to waste materials and delivery procedures.
7. Misuse
Fees charged at sorting stations are based on the quantity of waste received. At self-service sorting stations, the Customer is responsible for measuring and estimating the size of the load in advance.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the information provided in the online store regarding the waste’s:
- Origin
- Quality
- Waste category
- Quantity
- Weight
- Characteristics
- Potential hazardous properties
is accurate and sufficient.
The Customer must select all waste categories included in the load when placing the order through the online store. Different waste types must be kept separate and sorted into the designated collection containers at the reception facility.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the waste delivered corresponds to the waste specified in the order confirmation and complies with the reception criteria of the facility.
The reception facilities are equipped with recording video surveillance for purposes related to environmental permit compliance, operational monitoring, safety, and protection of property.
If LHJ subsequently determines, based on recorded video surveillance or other investigations, that the information provided by the Customer does not correspond to the quantity or type of waste received, that the Customer has failed to follow sorting instructions, or that the Customer has delivered waste not accepted at the facility, LHJ shall have the right to correct the information and charge the Customer the applicable fees according to the price list, as well as any additional costs incurred.
Misuse also includes situations where a sorting station must be cleaned due to intentional littering or vandalism. Any resulting fee will be charged to the person who delivered the waste to the facility. Removing items from a sorting station for personal use is prohibited.
8. Right of Withdrawal
The Customer has a fourteen (14) day right of withdrawal in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.
For service contracts, the withdrawal period begins on the date the service agreement is concluded.
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, service products are not subject to a right of withdrawal if the service has been fully performed or if the agreement requires performance on a specific date or within a specified period. For services that have been partially used, the supplier is entitled to withhold reimbursement corresponding to the used portion of the service from the total purchase price.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the Customer must clearly notify LHJ of the cancellation, primarily by using the cancellation function available in the online store. Alternatively, the Customer may submit a cancellation notice in free form by email to verkkokauppa@lhj.fi.
If the Customer withdraws from the agreement, LHJ will reimburse any payment using the same payment method that the Customer used for the original transaction, unless the Customer has expressly agreed otherwise. The Customer will not incur any costs as a result of the reimbursement.
10. Service Availability
LHJ strives to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the online store. However, LHJ reserves the right to temporarily suspend the operation of the online store for maintenance, updates, or other technical reasons.
LHJ shall not be liable for malfunctions or interruptions of the online store caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as disruptions in telecommunications networks or third-party services. LHJ shall also not be liable for errors resulting from the Customer’s use of the online store contrary to instructions or regulations, or for errors otherwise caused by the Customer
11. Force Majeure
A force majeure event releases LHJ from its obligations related to the online store if it prevents performance or makes performance unreasonably difficult.
Force majeure events include, but are not limited to, fire, earthquake, flood, explosion, strikes or other labour disputes, government actions or orders, disruptions in energy supply, shortages of raw materials or supplies, cable or telecommunications failures caused by third parties or external factors, or any other similar circumstance that could not reasonably have been foreseen or prepared for.
LHJ will notify customers of a force majeure event on the online store website as soon as possible after becoming aware of the event, provided that such notification is reasonably possible.
12. Amendments to the Terms of Use and Delivery
LHJ reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions of Sale and Delivery.
Orders shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions in force at the time the order is placed.
13. Complaints and Contact Information
Complaints must be submitted without undue delay in writing to LHJ Customer Service by email at verkkokauppa@lhj.fi.
